Train and Ballgame

We had a fun day #2 with the kids. We started with a late morning kid style train ride. After lunch we took the kids to a little water park...about all you can do in this heat is something involving water. The water park was very fun although I didn't get any pictures. Brinson passed a swim test and got to wear a special bracelet and go down the tube slide with the big kids. Very cool! We ended the day with a Fort Worth Cats ballgame. Whew...I was one whooped pup.

While B looks cute, Eli was intentionally making goofy faces so I couldn't get a good shot. Little toot...

GG on the train.

Whew, did I mention it was HOT??

Eli's 1st experience with cotton candy (and hopefully his last, ha...nasty stuff.)

Brinson liked hers, too!
I don't know how we did it, but we stayed the whole game, watched fireworks at the end, and the kids even ran the bases on the field. I was too tired to play Skipbo with Mamaw when we got home.

Family Visit

My mom ("Honey" to Eli), my mamaw ("GG" to Eli), and my niece, Brinson ("sister" to Eli) came for 4th of July weekend. We had so much fun. Eli loved having family around and really enjoyed hanging with big cousin Brinson. He really wants a sister (or brother) so badly, he usually asks me everyday "where is my sister?? I want a sister" when I pick him up from school. I guess he sees his classmates with siblings and is acutely aware he does not have one. (I tell him we are working on it, ha.)

Brinson fit the bill nicely in his mind...so he called her "sister" all weekend long. Forget about trying to explain cousins...he didn't care and didn't want to hear about it. Sister it was. It didn't seem to bother Brinson any, thank goodness! She has two little (twin) brothers of her own at home and acted like a sweet big sis to Eli.
Brinson and Eli at the zoo. Good gracious it was too hot to be there that afternoon but it was go then or not go at all. We had so much to do during their visit. We bought the water mister fans and could not have survived the two hours without them.
